Keeping up your breast milk supply is hungry work – and you need snacks that are good for breast milk production
I’ve never been a serious snacker, but lemme tell you, it’s nearly midnight (we’re wide awake waiting for the squishy baby to realize it’s night time) and I am shamelessly devouring one of those microwave pasta things. (The need for nighttime breastfeeding snacks is a real thing!)
Yes, I had supper. Big supper actually. But keeping up your breast milk supply takes calories. On top of just making milk, I’m taking blessed thistle with fenugreek to increase breast milk supply and it’s an appetite enhancer. O, Joy.

NORMALLY I don’t reach for the microwave pasta at midnight – but I ate my last oatmeal lactation cookie today (these chocolate chip lactation cookies from How Sweet Eats are THE BEST I’ve ever found!!) and getting a fresh batch made up is on my to-do list for tomorrow.
So I’m hunting down recipes tonight because I need to be better prepared next time I think I’m going to starve. (And I do not need to be wasting my calories on noodles when I could be eating something that will help with the milk supply for squish.)
Regardless of if you’ve got a naturally low supply or if you’re experiencing a sudden drop in milk supply – these breastfeeding friendly snacks will help increase your supply!

I had trouble with my milk supply for my little girl as i got pregnant with our next only three months after. I used Maxi- milk from Mountain Meadow Herbs and it did wonders for me. Really helped me keep going as i didnt want to give up breastfeeding her. Now our big boy has arrived and he has quite an appetite! Thanks for this list! Its always great to know what all the options are.
