I’ve breastfed all six of my babies, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that comfort and convenience are everything – especially in the summer. Between the heat, the sweating (so much sweating), and trying to keep a tiny human latched and happy while you’re both sticky, it can be a lot.
Whether you’re shopping for a new mom, looking to treat yourself, or are dropping hints to someone that loves you – here are my favorite products that any nursing mama would love to be gifted this summer!
1. Lightweight Nursing-Friendly Dresses
It wasn’t until I had my 3rd baby that I realized I could still wear dresses and feel pretty while still being able to breastfeed on demand. A soft-breathable dress is a must-have in the summer, whether you’re nursing or not! A wrap dress, button down sundress, or stretchy tank dresses are my favorite. Make the nursing mom in your life feel beautiful with a new dress that still offers the convenience she needs!
2. Comfortable Nursing Bras
Every nursing bra I’ve ever had was made of bulky fabric that was uncomfortable and caused me to sweat, sometimes so noticeably that you could see it on my shirt. Plus none of them ever fit properly and weren’t nearly stretchy enough to be comfortable.
The Momcozy Coolfit Nursing Bras are my absolute favorite nursing bras for summer. Instead of the uncomfortable, non-breathable fabric most nursing bras are made of, these are stretchy (but still super supportive!), lightweight, and breathable – perfect for summer in even the hottest climates!
They have an advanced jelly strip and seamless composite technology, meaning the CoolFit nursing bras provide high elasticity to adapt to your changing breast shapes during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The jelly strip also ensures a smooth, flawless fit, offering invisible comfort that stays hidden beneath your clothes for all-day wear.
With two different styles to choose from, you can choose the perfect gift for the new mama in your life.
The Momcozy CoolFit Nursing Bra – Ultra Stretch – is ultra stretchy and designed for everyday nursing wear, offering exceptional flexibility and comfort.
The Ultra Stretch has upgraded fixed cups for enhanced stability. Any woman that has worn a bra or a bathing suit knows the struggle of cups that roll into little cigar shapes or won’t go back into the pocket properly after washing. The improved fixed cup design keeps the cups securely in place, preventing shifting or rolling. This design also provides reliable support for your breasts, offering all-day comfort and stability.
A one-handed clasp provides easy access for nursing or skin-to-skin time with your baby. This one is perfect for mamas with a busy lifestyle.
The Momcozy CoolFit Nursing Bra – Racerback is my personal favorite. It is tailored for light exercise, featuring a low racerback structure with wide shoulder straps to provide enhanced support and comfort during movement.
The low racerback design gently relieves shoulder strain while offering plenty of back support. I love that the widened straps help ease shoulder pressure and provide a supportive lift for your breasts, ensuring maximum comfort during everyday activities.
Plus the hook and eye closure allows for quick wear and take off, awesome for the end of a long day outside with your tiniest one. With five rows of back hooks and an extra extender, this bra ensures a custom fit that perfectly adapts to your body.
3. A Big-Insulated Water Bottle (with a straw)
My biggest regret after having my last baby is not taking the massive water bottle with a straw that they gave me at the hospital. I have so many water bottles with spouts at home that it seemed silly to bring yet another one into my house. The first night home, I realized I’d made a mistake. A huge water bottle with a straw is a literal lifesaver for a breastfeeding mom in the summertime! An insulated one that can keep ice water cold for hours and hours is a great gift idea!
4. Neck Fan
I initially thought this would blow in my baby’s face when I was wearing him. I decided to try one on a recent trip to a theme park and not only did my baby not mind it, but it kept he and I cool all day in the Florida heat. This one is highly recommended for anyone, but especially nursing mamas that need to keep cool in the warm weather this summer!
5. One-Handed Non-Melty Snacks
When you think of quick snacks to keep on hand for when the breastfeeding munchies kick in, you probably think of granola bars or chips. Instead, gift any nursing mama with snacks that are meant to support milk production – while also being clean and easy to eat with only one free hand. I love oatmeal protein balls and oatmeal cookies (sans chocolate).
6. Gift Cards (and Permission to Use Them)
This is a great gift for any stay at home mom, especially one that is breastfeeding her baby round the clock. Making sure she is getting out of the house and around other people is one of the best gifts you can give. Give a gift card to a local restaurant or coffee shop, then offer to accompany her to make sure she uses it.
7. Gift Certificate for a Spa or Maid Service
This one can be a little pricier – but any certificate that buys a new mom a little time is money well-spent. Breastfeeding is an absolutely beautiful journey, but it comes with disadvantages. Feeling like you almost never have use of both of your hands, can get interrupted at any given moment, and broken sleep leading to low energy – to name a few. Any gift that will save time and energy will be appreciated by any new mom. A subscription to a meal service is also a great idea!
Whether this is her first baby or her sixth, summertime breastfeeding comes with its own unique set of challenges. Thoughtful, practical gifts like the ones on this list go a long way, but so does support, encouragement, and making sure she knows she’s doing a great job!
