The first thing you have to do to control baby clutter in your home is to recognize that it’s just like any other clutter. You either (a) need it or (b) don’t need it.
You keep the first and pass the second on to a friend who does, a crisis pregnancy center that helps moms in need, or donate it to the thrift store.
I’ve written about it before, about how tired I am, and why co-sleep even tho we said we’d NEVER. I’ve shared a compilation of the flat out best baby sleep tips out there. There is just a whole lot that can be said about baby sleep.
And none of it actually makes those wide awake 3 am hours (and hours and hours) any easier.
Shopping for gifts for a new baby can be so much FUN!
But also a little… stressful.
If you’re like me, you really want to get the perfect gift – something that will be appreciated, used and loved. You know, something that your money will be well spent on.
It’s 3 am and you’re googling “tips to get baby to sleep” or “when will my baby sleep through the night”? Maybe you’ve been awake for about 76.3 hours without even a moment of sleep.
Or maybe you’ve just spent 2 hours bouncing and praying and walking, and he finally closed his eyes. You placed him in his crib and silently climbed into bed. Just as you were closing your eyes, you hear him start to fuss, and the only thing left to do is burst into hysterical tears. (Been there!)
(If you’re here at 3 am because you googled “when will my baby sleep” or “why won’t my baby sleep” then Hi + Welcome! Also, I promise it gets better.)
At least for me it’s certainly been the most difficult thing. I would go as far as to say that my life has been controlled by anxiety over my baby’s sleeping. I don’t know why, but since the day he was born I have been distraught about his sleep.
Those first few weeks of Motherhood…
Bleeding. Exhausted. Scared. Crying. (And that’s just me. I’m sure it’s an adjustment for the baby too.)
Oh. my. word. My nipples. (Do I still even have nipples? Maybe I just wish I didn’t have nipples?)
How much fun is it to decorate and buy stuff for your new babe?! Way too much fun. That’s a problem.
If you don’t have an unlimited budget, then decorating the baby’s room might have be at the bottom of the “priorities” list when it comes to spending. (Because diapers and stuff. Them are necessary.)
