We need to talk. We have a big problem. (The “we” here being those of us in the developed world, for the most part.) So many of us live in a constant state of searching for health. We feel overwhelmingly tired and achy. We have brain fog and blotchy skin. We have weight issues. We shell out big cash for supplements and shakes and gyms. All to little (or no) benefit.
The first time I read about a plugin for WordPress, I had only one question.
A what?
I love setting my purse down on the clean counter, and standing there NOT feeling overwhelmed by mess. (Maybe you’ve always had a clean kitchen, in which case you might not totally relate to what I’m about to say here. But if you’re reading this there’s a good chance that maybe you don’t always have a clean kitchen…)
You’ve purchased hosting, you’ve chosen a theme, and set up WordPress and Google Analytics. You set up social media accounts, blog email, and decided what you would write about. It’s time to blog. If you didn’t do any WordPress tutorials… (well, I think you should have!) But if you didn’t do them, don’t panic.
You purchased hosting, and you’ve chosen a theme. You’ve set up social media accounts and you’ve watch some good tutorials on WordPress (right?). You know what you will blog about. Blog email is set up and ready to go. But now some things you’ve probably never heard of need your attention.
I’m sure that you are down-right impatient, at this point, to get to the blogging. But trust me, do these things before you start writing, and you will never regret it. Do these things before you even start clicking around in your WordPress dashboard.
You’ve just purchased hosting and installed WordPress. You own what will become your blog. It’s hard to imagine it right now, but truthfully, you might have just set out on the most exciting path you’ll ever take. Making a living from home. Doing what you WANT to do with your life or making a difference in other’s lives. EEK! (No, not right away. But everybody’s gotta start somewhere.) First of all, for real, congratulations on starting your blog! But um… now what?
The blogging world is calling you. You know you have important things to say. You want a new hobby. Or You’ve read the income reports and thought why not me? (And yes, why not you?)
I believe that living on purpose is creating a life and attitude that you will look back on and be happy with. It’s knowing who you are and what is important to you and then making the effort to live in tune with those things. It’s being brave enough to walk away from things that are easy, and put the effort into thing that are better.
I could write endlessly about hundreds of aspects of anxiety, and what I’ve found to be beneficial. But the series has gotta end eventually. There are some thoughts I have to leave with you, that didn’t fit in anywhere else, before we finish. These are paramount thoughts, for me anyhow, even though they aren’t full gown enough to merit their own post.
